State Representative says Centene audit long overdue

Mississippi paid Centene over $1-billion between 2016 and 2020 to manage medicaid health insurance benefits.  Last year alone, the company took in $111-billion, nearly doubling its total revenue from 2 years earlier.  Now the state auditor and attorney general have launched an investigation into whether the company and it’s subsidiaries overcharged taxpayers–or worse.

State Representative Becky Currie has been pushing for a full audit.  She went into great detail about her concerns during an interview this week on ‘The Gallo Show’.

A lawsuit in Ohio alleges that Centene asked for reimbursements for amounts already paid, failed to disclose the cost of pharmacy services, and inflated drug dispensing fees.

Currie says the audit is long overdue.
