Samaritan’s Purse demobilizing Emergency Field Hospital at University of Mississippi Medical Center

The Emergency Field Hospital that was set up in Garage C at University of Mississippi Medical Center is being demobilized.  Samaritan’s Purse set up the facility August 18th to help ease the strain on hospitals overwhelmed by the surge in COVID cases brought on by the Delta variant.

Thankfully, the number of COVID-related hospitalizations has started to recede, and all the remaining patients from the facility were moved into UMMC hospitals earlier this week.

A total of 65 patients received treatment from Samaritan’s Purse providers.
