The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) is reporting 740 new cases of COVID-19.
The latest report brings the state’s total number of cases up to 524,629. With the confirmation of 23 additional deaths, 10,387 Mississippians have passed away from the virus.
Currently, 1,437,475 Mississippi residents are fully vaccinated.
Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. CT, President Joe Biden will address the nation as the Omicron variant continues to surge worldwide. According to USA Today, Biden is expected to announce the purchase of half a billion rapid COVID-19 tests that will be available to Americans through the mail, while also issuing a “stark warning” to unvaccinated individuals.
