It was a tough weekend for both Ole Miss and Mississippi State baseball.
The Rebels (19-12) were swept at home by Alabama, while the Bulldogs (18-15) lost all three of their games to LSU. Both teams are now 4-8 in conference play, which ties them for dead last in the SEC West.
There is at least one bright spot in Mississippi college baseball right now, though, and that’s Southern Miss. The Golden Eagles (23-8, 10-2 Conference USA) continued their hot streak, sweeping Charlotte and furthering their case as the state’s best team.
While Mississippi State remains unranked in the latest D1Baseball Top 25 rankings, Ole Miss is barely hanging on at No. 25. Southern Miss is just one spot outside of the Top 10, coming in at No. 11.
