COVID-19 cases continue to rise in Mississippi with the Department of Health’s most recent report confirming 1,156 new cases.
Friday’s report brings the state’s total number of cases to 820,659. With three additional deaths, the number of Mississippians who have passed away as a result of the virus stands at 12,492. Additionally, there are 111 ongoing outbreaks in long-term care facilities.
In an effort to combat the increased numbers, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) authorized the use of vaccines for those as young as six months on Friday morning. To view the entire MSDH report, click here.
