A former Amory High School teacher who was charged with child exploitation has been ordered to be released on a $10,000 unsecured bond despite prosecutors’ requests to keep him locked up.

The former teacher, Toshemie Wilson, was under federal investigation over what was perceived to be a pattern of sexual abuse against minors.

Investigators discovered more than 300 articles of evidence from Wilson’s home. Included in the evidence were inappropriate tapes, some of which involved former students.

According to investigators, Wilson would have students perform inappropriate acts and would pay them with cash or drugs.

Wilson was charged in May with making and possessing child pornography after investigators found illicit evidence of former students and non-disclosure agreements signed by former students.

After his initial release on bond, Wilson was ordered by federal authorities to avoid contacting his victims; however, Wilson took to social media to reach out to those whom he exploited.

Wilson was held in prison until his initial appearance where he was ordered to be released on bond.
