MSDH reports 2,027 new COVID-19 cases

COVID-19 is on a continuous rise in the Magnolia State according to the Mississippi State Department of Health’s latest report confirming 2,027 new cases.

Thursday’s update brings the state’s total number of cases to 854,500. With three additional deaths, the complete number of Mississippians who have passed as a result of the virus is 12,563. Additionally, there are currently 196 ongoing outbreaks in long-term care facilities.

Mississippi is averaging 1,582 daily cases over the last week. As of Monday, 1,557,939 (52%) of Mississippi residents were fully vaccinated.
