The Jackson Zoo’s annual Blue Bell Ice Cream Social returns on Saturday, July 16.
Presented by the City with Soul, the event will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with all proceeds going towards new animal acquisitions and future exhibits.
This year’s group of “celebrity” scoopers will be made up of local U.S. veterans, members of the U.S. Army Jackson Recruiting Company, U.S. Navy Talent Acquisition Group of New Orleans, officers from the Jackson Police Department, Sgt. Arp. From the Port Gibson Police Department, Hinds County Sheriff’s Department, and the Jackson Fire Department. Assisting them will be “pro” volunteers from SuperTalk Mississippi News, Kixie/WJMI, Bday 99.1, Mississippi Free Press, WJTV, WAPT, The Clinton Courier, and more.
Activities included with admission include a water slide, inflatables, and face painting. Tickets are regular admission ($5 and $8) plus a $5 Blue Bell social pass. To purchase your tickets online, click here. Only cash will be accepted at the gate.
