COVID-19 is continuing to run its course through the Magnolia State according to the Mississippi State Department of Health’s latest report confirming 1,761 new cases.
Wednesday’s update brings the state’s total number of cases to 862,528. With 13 additional deaths, the total number of Mississippians who have passed as a result of the virus is now 12,589. In addition, there are currently 204 ongoing outbreaks in long-term care facilities.
Mississippi is averaging 1,450 daily cases over the last week. As of Monday, 1,559,790 (52%) of Mississippi residents were fully vaccinated.
