Canopy Children’s Solutions has announced the upcoming launch of The Canopy School in the fall of 2022.
The Canopy School will be a nonprofit, accredited, and individualized academic environment for children with a multitude of learning differences.
In its first stage, The Canopy School will serve students in kindergarten through eighth grade. It will later expand to add preschool and high school grade levels.
Further, The Canopy School looks to meet the needs of children struggling with autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and other learning differences by utilizing a small student-to-teacher ratio.
This will allow for the school to operate as a workforce development training ground providing hands-on experience for teachers statewide.
“We consider what we are doing by creating The Canopy School to be another historic undertaking for our 110-year-old organization,” said Canopy CEO John D. Damon, Ph.D. “Canopy has been offering accredited, special-purpose educational solutions for more than 30 years through Canopy CARES Schools in Hattiesburg and Jackson. The Canopy School is our newest solution that will give Canopy the opportunity to bring innovation and educational solutions to a more diverse student population.”
