2,079 new COVID-19 cases reported across Mississippi

On Tuesday, the Mississippi State Department of Health confirmed 2,079 new cases of COVID-19.

The update brings the state’s total number of recorded cases since the onset of the pandemic to 889,213. With six additional deaths, 12,714 Mississippians have now passed away as a result of the virus. Additionally, there are currently 193 ongoing outbreaks in long-term care facilities.

Mississippi is currently averaging 1,136 daily cases, a 19% decrease from two weeks ago. As of Monday, 1,557,781 Mississippians were fully vaccinated.
