On Tuesday, the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) confirmed 3,103 new cases of COVID-19.
The seven-day update brings the state’s total number of recorded cases since the onset of the pandemic to 925,596. With 26 additional deaths, 12,879 Mississippians have now passed away as a result of the virus. Additionally, there are currently 141 ongoing outbreaks in long-term care facilities.
Mississippi is averaging 517 daily cases, a 56% decrease from two weeks ago. As of September 1, 1,563,903 Mississippians were fully vaccinated.
