Update: Officials have announced the winning numbers for the record $2.04 billion Powerball lottery jackpot after a delay in Monday night’s drawing when one of the 48 participating lotteries needed more time to complete the necessary protocols.
The winning numbers are 10-33-41-47-56 and the Powerball was 10.
No winner was announced.
The highly-anticipated drawing for the record-breaking $1.9 billion Powerball jackpot was delayed Monday night.
Officials with the Multi-State Lottery Association, which includes the Mississippi Lottery, released a statement early Tuesday morning attributing the delay to one participating lottery still processing its sales and play data. Winning numbers are unable to be drawn until all 48 participating lotteries submit their data.
According to the release, due to the delay, the results of the drawing will likely not be known until Tuesday morning and players should hold onto their tickets until the winning numbers are revealed.
Once the security protocols are complete, the drawing will be performed under the supervision of lottery security officials and independent auditors.
The drawing will be the 41st Powerball drawing since the jackpot was last won on August 3 in Pennsylvania and has surpassed the game record for the number of consecutive drawings without a grand prize winner. The longest jackpot run in Powerball history ended on Oct. 4, 2021, when a ticket in California won a $699.8 million jackpot on the 41st drawing.
