39-year-old Martez Abram has been sentenced to death after being found guilty of a shooting that occurred in a Southaven Walmart in 2019.
On Thursday, Abram was charged with two counts of capital murder for the deaths of Walmart employees 38-year-old Brandon Gales and 40-year-old Anthony Brown.
Prior to the shooting, Abram was also an employee at the Mississippi Walmart. According to court documents, Abram’s motive was related to his suspension from the store after bringing a knife to work.
Abram was given an additional charge of attempted murder for shooting a police officer at the scene.
