The Moss Point School District and Alumni Association are scheduled to hold a jersey retirement ceremony for NBA star Devin Booker — a Moss Point High School alum — on Saturday.
During his 70 games at MPHS, the guard averaged 27.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. Booker went on to play for one season at Kentucky before being selected by the Phoenix Suns with the 13th pick of the first round in the 2015 NBA draft.
The Suns’ guard’s professional resume includes a trip to the 2021 NBA Finals as well as a fourth-place finish in MVP voting for the 2021-2022 season.
Booker will be recognized at Arthur Haynes Gymnasium. The event will open to the public at 1:30 p.m. and the ceremony will begin at 2:30 p.m. Entry is free of charge.
