In an effort to help those affected by the recent United Furniture layoffs, the Community Development Foundation will be hosting a job fair Tuesday, Dec. 13 in Tupelo.
The fair, which will feature nearly 45 employers, will be held from 8 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Tupelo Furniture Market, Building #5.
“Luckily, everybody still needs employees,” CDF Director Maury Giachelli said. “We want people to know that if you’re unemployed, we absolutely want you there. For sure if you’re a United-Lane employee, we want you there.”
Financial assistance and benefits consulting will also be available on-site.
This will be the second job fair hosted by the CDF since United Furniture laid off its entire workforce of 2,700 employees via text message and email just two days before Thanksgiving.
