Another round of severe weather is taking a toll on Mississippi communities.

Governor Tate Reeves took to social media Thursday afternoon to announce that the city of Louisville and much of Winston County are experiencing intense flooding, which has damaged homes and businesses.

In addition, the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) reports that roadways are flooded in portions of Choctaw and Noxubee counties.

Search and Rescue assets are en route to assist those affected by the severe weather.

MEMA is urging citizens to seek higher ground if needed and to stay off the roadways if possible. The agency is also encouraging those in the impacted area to avoid driving through flooded areas.

A safe room is available for Louisville residents at 99 North Columbus Ave Louisville, Miss. 39339.
