Even though the winner of the largest-ever Mega Millions jackpot wasn’t from Mississippi, one local player did win big on a different game.
According to officials with the Mississippi Lottery Corporation, a player from Bay Springs went to Keith’s Superstore on Highway 15 and purchased scratch-offs for his neighbor. After his neighbor won $1,000, the player whose name has not been released went back to the same store and decided to purchase some scratch-offs for himself.
Lo and behold, the player also won – his $20 ticket being worth $400,000!
