A Golden Triangle man is locked up after he allegedly stabbed his grandmother.
Columbus Police Chief Joseph Daughtry confirmed to WCBI that 22-year-old Carlos Pruitt faces an aggravated domestic assault with a deadly weapon charge after his 72-year-old grandmother was found with multiple stabbing wounds early Tuesday morning.
Officers received a call for help at a residence on 10th Avenue around 2 a.m. Upon arrival, police found the elderly woman injured. She was allegedly attacked by Pruitt.
The unidentified grandmother was taken to a local hospital for treatment and is listed in stable condition. Her grandson was housed at the Lowndes County Detention Center.
