A murder suspect out of Texas has been captured in Mississippi.

While the suspect’s identity has not been released, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office confirmed via social media that a 12-hour manhunt ended on Tuesday at 6:30 a.m.

Multiple deputies along with a K-9 unit from the Vicksburg Police Department began searching for an individual suspected of murder in west Texas on Monday night. The search was initiated by the discovery of the suspect’s vehicle on China Grove Road, south of Gibson Road. Inside the car, they found items suggesting the alleged killer may be nearby.

Law enforcement then warned residents of the area to lock their doors, make sure their keys are secured, and avoid getting out on the road until an arrest was made. They also asked for any relevant information or possible sightings, describing the suspect as a Black male in his mid-20s standing at 6’2” and around 200 pounds.

Additional manpower from other agencies was deployed to the area to aid in the search and capture.
