A man is behind bars after getting caught hauling more than 20 pounds of fentanyl in central Mississippi.
According to the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department, a deputy became suspicious that a man, identified as Arturo Gonsen-Miranda, was trafficking drugs during a traffic stop on Interstate 20 Friday afternoon.
The deputy at the scene requested backup and police K-9 “VooDoo” alerted authorities of the presence of illegal substances in the subject’s Ford truck. Deputies then began to search the vehicle and discovered two false compartments carrying the illegal substance.
Gonsen-Miranda was arrested and charged with aggravated trafficking of a controlled substance. He is currently housed in the Rankin County Detention Center on a bond that has not yet been set.
