A Mississippi Gulf Coast couple is behind bars for child abuse following the death of an infant.
On Thursday, Biloxi police responded to Merit Health Hospital after being called regarding a suspicious death. When officers arrived at the scene, they were informed by hospital staffers that two individuals, identified as 20-year-old Summer Rose Hill and 21-year-old Takavian Keivon Gibbs, had brought their deceased child to the emergency room.
During the initial examination, medical staff discovered multiple injuries consistent with abuse. Hill and Jones were both arrested and charged with child abuse. Each subject was given a $500,000 bond and transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center.
Additional charges are expected in the case. Anyone with additional information about the infant’s death is asked to contact the Biloxi Police Department Criminal Investigation Division at (228)435-6112.
