Harrison County law enforcement is searching for a Saucier man that escaped custody over the weekend.
29-year-old Joseph Rigell Rayborn fled from police on Sunday afternoon after he had been apprehended, Harrison County Sheriff Matt Haley said. Rayborn was contained in handcuffs after a domestic dispute, and deputies also learned he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for probation violation on a burglary charge.
Despite being held in handcuffs, Rayborn fled on foot. A police officer was injured during the pursuit and Rayborn was able to elude capture.
A statement from the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department said that Rayborn was last seen at 8:30 p.m. on Saucier Fairly Road and was no longer in handcuffs. He’s described as 6 feet tall, 135 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a white tank top and light-colored shorts.
Harrison County law enforcement officials are seeking the public’s help to recapture Joseph Rayborn. If you have information about Rayborn’s whereabouts, you can contact the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office at 228-897-1364.
