Two women accused of killing a tourist on Bourbon Street in New Orleans have been captured in Mississippi.
Mia Lindsey, 22, and Mariah Campbell, 26, were found and arrested Monday night in Columbia. The two were wanted in connection to the shooting of Christopher Oatts Jr., 39, a tourist visiting New Orleans from Florida.
According to the New Orleans Police Department, Oatts was shot Saturday around 4:07 a.m. in the 600 block of Bourbon Street near Toulouse Street. He was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to the single gunshot. No other details regarding the circumstances of the fatal shooting have been released by NOPD at this time.
Lindsey was booked on charges of second-degree murder, while Campbell was charged with accessory to second-degree murder. Both are in the process of being extradited to Louisiana.
The arrest of the women was a joint operation involving NOPD, Louisiana State Police, the FBI, the Columbia Police Department, and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
