Mississippi artists aged 21 and older have an opportunity to win a cash prize and be featured at the largest art festival in the Magnolia State.
The organizers of the Blue Moon Art Project contest are offering local artists the chance to create a fun and contemporary canvas for a shot at winning $2000 and being the focal point of “Everything Blue Moon” during the Peter Anderson Arts & Crafts Festival.
An artist residing in Mississippi may submit a painted art piece on a museum-quality canvas size 24” (height) x 36” (width). Artists are encouraged to create a design that inspires the crafty essence of Blue Moon and the vibe of how the beer brand makes customers feel.
Artists may download this year’s application by going online and clicking on the “Blue Moon” logo on the home page. Applications are to be turned in with a painted canvas to the Ocean Springs Chamber Main Street offices located at 1000 Washington Avenue by 3 p.m. on October 4.
A committee will review each application looking for specific details including but not limited to the size of the canvas, the design to be that of a contemporary yet abstract design, and imagery. Beer bottles are not included in the painting and no words are to be added to the front of the artwork. The size of the painted canvas will be strictly enforced.
The Peter Anderson Arts & Crafts Festival will take place in downtown Ocean Springs from November 2-3.
