Police are investigating a Starkville man following the death of two women in Winston County.
Though no formal homicide charges have been brought against Carlos Daniels, he is believed to be linked to the death of his mother and girlfriend. Authorities have not released the names of the two females at this time
According to Winston County Sheriff Mike Perkins, deputies were called to Zion Ridge Road in Louisville on Thursday evening regarding the homicides. It is suspected that the pair of women were killed on either Monday or Tuesday.
After police discovered the two dead bodies, the Winston County Sheriff’s Department took to social media to announce that Carlos Daniels was a suspect in the case. He was captured hours later near Raytheon in Forest courtesy of a multi-agency pursuit spearheaded by the Scott County Sheriff’s Office.
No stranger to law enforcement, Daniels had outstanding warrants for multiple misdemeanors and a contempt of court charge in the Golden Triangle. He was also recently arrested for stealing a truck in the parking lot of the Lowe’s hardware store in Starkville and is accused of releasing himself from an ankle monitor to evade authorities.
Investigators expect charges to be forthcoming against the suspect in connection with the homicides soon.
