One person in Adams County has been arrested after shooting at a Mississippi state trooper.
According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the incident began Thursday around 7 a.m. on U.S. Highway 61 near York Road when the trooper attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a 2017 white Ford Fiesta.
The vehicle’s driver, Hollis Green, fled and began firing multiple rounds at the trooper. After the trooper lost sight of Green’s vehicle, they found it abandoned at a home on Lincoln Heights Road in Natchez. A search of the area resulted in Green being located at 9:38 a.m.
Green was discovered in possession of a firearm and was taken into custody without further incident.
Green is facing several charges, including aggravated assault on a police officer, felony fleeing, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is being held at the Adams County Jail.
No injuries have been reported.
