A West Point selectwoman has been arrested for allegedly driving under the influence.
According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, Leta Turner was taken into custody in Louisville around 6 p.m. on Thursday. She was initially pulled over for speeding before marijuana was found in her vehicle after troopers searched it.
Turner was charged with possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle and DUI.
Turner, a Democrat, has served on the West Point Board of Mayor and Selectmen since 2017.
