West Point announcer goes viral with chronicling of final seconds against Louisville

The play-by-play announcer for West Point High School is going viral for his chronicling of the final seconds of play in a wild showdown against Louisville High School on Friday night.

In a matchup between two Mississippi powerhouses, Louisville’s kicker knocked in a go-ahead field goal in the third quarter to make the score 15-14. The fourth was scoreless with West Point squandering an opportunity to win the game with the clock waning, and that’s when the hero we didn’t know we needed came in on the call.

Did he just quote “Wanna Be A Baller” lyrics? There’s a player nicknamed “TurboMax” on West Point?? Did he finally take a minute to breathe??? There are so many questions we need answered. Gosh, I hope the announcer got his blood pressure medicine soon after the game.

What we do know is West Point-Louisville was a great start to the high school football season. Both teams, coming off championships in their respective classifications, are expected to have big years ahead.
