15th annual Mississippi Songwriters Festival to kick off next week

The 15th annual Mississippi Songwriters Festival is one week away.

From  Thursday, Sept. 19 through Sunday, Sept. 22, more than 125 songwriters will be taking the main stage at venues along the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

The full schedule of events for the four-day event can be found below.

Thursday night

The event will begin with a Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at the Mary C. O’Keefe Cultural Arts Center in Ocean Springs. This year’s inductees are:

  • Howlin’ Wolf
  • Muddy Waters
  • Willie Dixon
  • Glen Ballard

A special performance by Poplarville trio Chapel Hart will take place and the ceremony will be emceed by Walt Grayson. A kickoff party will follow at nearby Neon Moon.

Thursday night’s Hall of Fame show is a ticketed event free to the public. However, due to limited seating, one must have a ticket to get in. Doors will open to the public at 6:30 p.m. No tickets will be available at the door.

Friday

Performances will take place throughout the day at the following locations:
