Mississippi State, Ole Miss announce 2025 baseball schedules

Mississippi State and Ole Miss have released their 2025 baseball schedules as we are now just five months out from first pitch.

For the Bulldogs, Chris Lemonis’ squad will look to advance even further in the postseason after being knocked out of regional play by Virginia last year. Mike Bianco’s club in Oxford will seek the Rebels’ first postseason appearance since the team won the national title in 2022. Here are the schedules for both teams.

Mississippi State

The Bulldogs ended the 2024 campaign with a 40-23 record and showed lots of promise on the mound, largely due to the presence of first-year pitching coach Justin Parker. However, Lemonis’ club will turn to new faces to replace the production of key departures like pitchers Jurrangelo Cijntje and Khal Stephen, outfielder Dakota Jordan, and shortstop David Mershon to name a few.

Lemonis will seek to return the Bulldogs to Omaha for the first time since the team’s championship run in 2021. But that road could be a bit bumpy along the way. Mississippi State will welcome Manhattan to Dudy Noble Field from Feb. 14-16 to open the season. The Bulldogs will then take on in-state foe Southern Miss in Hattiesburg on Feb. 18 to begin midweek action. Southern Miss will travel to Starkville to take on Mississippi State on March 4. Notably, the two are not scheduled to battle at Trustmark Park this upcoming season as has been customary in recent years.

Other noteworthy non-conference matchups include an appearance in the Astros Foundation College Classic, held at Minute Maid Park from Feb. 28 through March 2. Mississippi State will play Rice, Arizona, and Oklahoma State.

The Diamond Dogs will take on first-year SEC foe Texas at home to open the gauntlet of conference play from March 14-16. Mississippi State will then take on Oklahoma for the first time in an SEC series on the road the following weekend. The team is set to play Ole Miss in the annual Governor’s Cup at Trustmark Park on April 22 before hosting the Rebels at Dudy Noble Field for a three-game series from May 9-11.

Mississippi State will conclude the regular season at Missouri from May 15-17. The Bulldogs’ full schedule can be viewed below.

Ole Miss

After a walk-off home run by Mississippi State’s Connor Hujsak in the SEC Tournament ended Ole Miss’ 2024 season, the Rebels will embark on the 2025 campaign with new guidance on the mound. Bianco, after calling pitches for more than 20 years, handed off the duties to Brandon native Joel Mangrum who made his way to Oxford from the minor league ranks.

Ole Miss ended last season with a 27-29 record and left a lot to be desired. This coming season, the team will be battle-tested early, facing three quality opponents in Arizona, Texas, and Clemson at the Shriners Children’s College Showdown in Arlington, Texas, from Feb. 14-16.

The Rebels’ home opener will take place on Feb. 18 against Arkansas State, in what will be the first of 13 consecutive games at Swayze Field. A notable midweek contest will be against Southern Miss at home on Feb. 25. The two will square off once more at Trustmark Park on March 18.

SEC play for Ole Miss will launch from March 14-16 when a familiar foe in Arkansas comes to Oxford. The Rebels are slated to host the reigning national champion Tennessee Volunteers from April 11-13, just nine days ahead of the aforementioned Governor’s Cup against Mississippi State.

Ole Miss will host Vanderbilt at Swayze Field on the final weekend of April before going on back-to-back road trips to Oklahoma and Mississippi State to open May. The Rebels’ final regular season series at home comes on May 15-17 as they host the Auburn Tigers. View the full Ole Miss baseball schedule below.

The SEC Tournament will run from May 20-25 in Hoover, Ala. It will be the first time all 16 teams in the conference are automatically granted a spot.
