As Helene continues to impact the southeastern U.S. after making landfall as a Category 4 hurricane, more than 30 people have been reported dead and nearly five million people are without power as a result of the inclement weather.
In response to the devastation, multiple power companies out of Mississippi have sent manpower and aid to affected areas.
Laurel-based Dixie Electric Power Association has also sent linemen, servicemen, and other support personnel to Quincy, Florida, to help restore power.
The now-tropical storm has impacted parts of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina.
