Mississippi’s largest fine arts festival is back, with the 46th annual Peter Anderson Arts & Crafts Festival taking place in downtown Ocean Springs on Saturday, Nov. 2, and Sunday, Nov. 3.
The festival – named in honor of the original potter of Shearwater Pottery, Peter Anderson – will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on each day with attendees able to enjoy live music, art vendors, demonstrations, and children’s activities.
Approximately 150,000 visitors attend the event each year, along with over 400 artists who put their skills on display. Artists can be seen painting, sculpting, and even firing up some pottery with their local creations available to purchase. Musicians will be spread throughout the festival with signs set up directing people to various concerts.
Also on site will be a hands-on marine education area led by the Gulf Coast Research Laboratory at the University of Southern Mississippi featuring a variety of displays, artifacts, and activities.
A children’s art market will be available for those ages 8 to 18. Young art entrepreneurs will exhibit their one-of-a-kind items for purchase on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the grounds of the Walter Anderson Museum of Art.
