A longtime Mississippi law enforcement officer in central Mississippi passed away over the weekend.
The Madison Police Department reported that Lt. William Christopher Picou passed away from an unspecified injury while he was at his hunting camp.
Picou, who was in law enforcement for decades, most recently served as an administration and K-9 supervisor in Madison. He also spent time with the Hinds County Sheriff’s Office and Rankin County Sheriff’s Department.

Visitation for Picou will take place at Broadmoor Baptist Church in Madison from 10 a.m. to noon. A funeral service will immediately follow. The late officer will be laid to rest at the Monterey Baptist Church cemetery in Monterey, Louisiana.
