Kemper County woman locked up for recording sexual encounter with minor

An east Mississippi woman is behind bars following a four-year investigation into sex crimes committed against a child.

Adreoinna Latoria Hickman was taken into custody over the weekend. In October 2020, the Kemper County Sheriff’s Department began to assess Hickman on charges of sexual battery of a minor under the age of 14 and child pornography.

Hickman was accused of performing sex acts on a child, videoing the illicit encounter, and sending it to another individual via a social media outlet. The local law enforcement department was unable to find substantial evidence to arrest the alleged suspect, rendering the case inactive.

After four years of stagnation in the case, the sheriff’s department received a call from the FBI notifying Kemper County authorities that they had located the video of Hickman and the victim.

Upon receiving the video, local authorities took the suspect in for questioning. Hickman admitted to both engaging in sexual activities with a minor and also recording the incident. She further added that she committed the crime for money, but was never compensated.

Hickman was processed into the Kemper/Neshoba Regional Jail Facility and was given a $500,000 bond. She will appear in court on March 17, 2025.
