The teenage suspect wanted by police for a murder that took place in Columbus is now in the custody of law enforcement.

Larone Scott Baity, 18, turned himself in to police on Thursday in connection with the slaying of Marquez Carter, Jr., 16, on September 28.

Baity is the second person to be handcuffed in this case. Officers arrested Jakody Moore in September. The two are reported to have driven by an area home and opened fire, striking and killing Carter and wounding an unidentified teenager at the scene.

No bond was listed for Baity on the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office’s website.
