A Mississippi man was one of three people who lost their lives in a boating accident in Alabama on Wednesday.
A report from WHNT-TV says that 62-year-old Jeffrey Little, of Brandon, along with 44-year-old John Clark and 58-year-old Joey Broom, of Alabama, were killed after two boats collided at a Major League Fishing Tournament on Lewis Smith Lake in northern Alabama.

Broom was declared dead at the scene of the crash, while Little and Clark were later recovered from drowning after being thrown from their boat in the water wreck.
Major League Fishing confirmed the wreck in a statement late Wednesday, but neglected to provide further details out of respect for the victims. The statement also noted that MLF will work closely with law enforcement and emergency officials as investigations are carried out.
“This is a heartbreaking moment for our entire organization,” MLF Executive Vice President and General Manager Kathy Fennel said. “Our deepest condolences go out to the families and friends of those affected by this tragedy.”
MLF cancelled the remainder of the tournament on Lewis Smith Lake after the crash.
