Chapel Hart to perform free concert in Greenwood on Thursday

Mississippi’s favorite country music trio will be taking the stage in Greenwood on Thursday, June 26, for an early Independence Day celebration.

Poplarville-based Chapel Hart will headline this year’s “Stars & Stripes” community celebration. The stage will be set up inside the park between the two downtown bridges along the Yazoo River. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. with the free concert beginning at 7:30 p.m. Afterward, a firework display will light up the night sky and help ring in the incoming Fourth of July holiday.

According to the Greenwood-Leflore Chamber of Commerce, which is putting on the event, there will be two entrances into the park: one on the boat dock side and the other off Keesler Bridge. Parking will be limited, and a clear-bag policy will be in effect. While no outside beverages will be allowed, there will be food and drink options inside the park. Lawn chairs are encouraged.

Chapel Hart launched into a meteoric rise through the country music scene after becoming the first-ever group to garner a unanimous Golden Buzzer on America’s Got Talent in 2022. Since then, sisters Danica and Devynn Hart have gone on multiple tours, recorded two more studio albums, and have been named a “Next Big Thing” artist by CMT.

After the stop in Greenwood, Chapel Hart will take the stage at next month’s Choctaw Indian Fair before traveling to West Virginia, North Carolina, Norway, and Germany.
