Ole Miss coordinator of recruiting strategy Kelvin Bolden is departing Oxford for an elevated role at LSU, per multiple reports.
After spending three years under Lane Kiffin’s tutelage, the Ocean Springs native and former Southern Miss wide receiver is now slated to become the Tigers’ senior associate athletics director and assistant general manager, as reported by On3.
During his time at Ole Miss, Bolden helped the Rebels secure multiple top-20 high school recruiting classes. He was especially influential in the red and blue landing major homegrown players, including Suntarine Perkins (five-star linebacker from Raleigh), Caleb Cunningham (five-star wide receiver from Choctaw County), Kam Franklin (four-star defensive lineman from Lake Cormorant), and other highly-coveted Mississippi prospects.
Bolden will join a familiar face in LSU football general manager Austin Thomas in Baton Rouge. Thomas spent two years in the same position at Ole Miss before jumping ship to the SEC rival in January 2024.
With a major blow delivered to the recruiting staff, Kiffin will be tasked with filling a large pair of shoes as the early signing period in December looms.
