Century Club Charities, the host organization of the annual Sanderson Farms Championship in Jackson, made its annual donation to Friends of Children’s Hospital on Tuesday.

$1 million from the PGA tournament’s proceeds will go to supporting the University of Mississippi Medical Center’s pediatric healthcare mission, including the state’s only children’s hospital. Century Club Charities officials also announced $750,000 being gifted to other charities across the state, bringing the charitable impact of the 2024 Sanderson Farms Championship up to $1.75 million.

“We are deeply grateful to our title sponsor, Wayne-Sanderson Farms, along with our tournament partners, the PGA Tour, the Country Club of Jackson, Century Club Charities members, staff, and volunteers, for their incredible support,” Century Club Charities President JR Woodall said. “Their contributions helped us host a first-class event and make a meaningful impact on Mississippi charities, including Children’s of Mississippi, at a time when their support is needed most.”

Since Sanderson Farms, now Wayne-Sanderson Farms, became title sponsor of Mississippi’s lone PGA event in 2013, the tournament and Century Club Charities have contributed over $18.95 million to Friends of Children’s Hospital and other charities statewide. Since 1994, Century Club Charities has raised more than $26.25 million for those various nonprofits and other charitable organizations.

Children’s of Mississippi, which includes the children’s hospital in Jackson and clinics across the state, provides care for nearly 200,000 children a year. Dr. LouAnn Woodward, vice chancellor for health affairs at UMMC, said without them, new equipment and facility updates would not be nearly as possible.

“Century Club Charities and the Sanderson Farms Championship continue to demonstrate an unwavering commitment to children’s healthcare,” Woodward noted. “The millions of dollars raised through this premier event play a vital role in delivering world-class health care in Mississippi. We are deeply grateful for their steadfast support and dedication to improving the lives of families across our state.”

The Sanderson Farms Championship will return to the Country Club of Jackson between Sept. 29 and Oct. 5, 2025, with a portion of the proceeds once again going to charity.
