1,146 new COVID-19 cases reported across Mississippi

On Friday, the Mississippi State Department of Health confirmed 1,146 new cases of COVID-19.

The update brings the state’s total number of recorded cases since the onset of the pandemic to 883,465. With six additional deaths, 12,684 Mississippians have now passed away as a result of the virus. Additionally, there are currently 196 ongoing outbreaks in long-term care facilities.

Mississippi is currently averaging 1,209 daily cases, a 16% decrease from two weeks ago. As of Monday, 1,557,324 Mississippi residents were fully vaccinated.
