Two inmates housed in the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility have died.

Rankin County Coroner David Ruth confirmed the deaths of 61-year-old Albert Hickombottom and 59-year-old Janice Mowdy. The two are reported to have passed away on Tuesday at a local hospital from causes that have not yet been released.

Hickombottom, a former bus driver in the Natchez Adams School District, was serving a 10-year sentence on gratification of lust charges. He was accused of sexual misconduct with a 13-year-old.

Mowdy was serving a life sentence for capital murder in Scott County. She was incarcerated for starving her grandson, four-year-old Austin Watkins, to death in 2008 and received her life sentence after pleading guilty to the crime in 2009.

Authorities do not suspect foul play. An autopsy is pending for both deaths.
