On Tuesday, the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) reported 4,909 more cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi.
The latest report brings the state’s total number of cases to 699,002. With the confirmation of 21 additional deaths, 10,755 Mississippians have passed away from the virus.
State Health Officer Dr. Thomas Dobbs continues to urge people to get a booster dose, writing that it provides 90% protection from hospitalization. As of January 23, 1,414 people were hospitalized with COVID-19.
