The 57th Annual Dixie National Livestock Show kicks off on Thursday.
“We are excited to kick-off the Dixie National Livestock Show and Rodeo presented by our title sponsor Southern AgCredit,” Mississippi Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce Andy Gipson said. “Over the next month, thousands of people will be making their way to the Mississippi State Fairgrounds for the many events and shows taking place.”
The livestock show will begin with the Dixie National Horse and Mile Color Bonanza Show, taking place January 20-23. The show begins at 8:00 a.m. each day and features mules of different colors and sizes, long-eared donkeys, along with Pinto, Palomino, and American Ranch horses.
From February 11-19, the Dixie National Rodeo will take place. Musical acts include Dylan Scott, Joe Nichols, The Gatlin Brothers, Justin Moore, Neal McCoy, Gary Allan and The Bellamy Brothers.
“Having the Dixie National Rodeo take place over two weekends will give rodeo fans more opportunities to experience the ‘Greatest Show on Dirt,’” Gipson continued.
