An 8-year-old girl is in critical condition after being struck by a school bus in Madison.
Madison Police Lt. Micah Taylor reports that the incident took placeat the intersection of Cobblestone Drive and Rockwood Drive on Wednesday around 4:20 p.m.
First responders arrived at the scene and immediately began providing medical assistance on the unidentified child. The juvenile was quickly transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center by an ambulance..
“We ask the public to please stay away from the area, as Madison Police officers are continuing their investigation and reconstructing the scene,” a release from the Madison Police Department reads. “All school children on the bus were reunited with their parents. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and Madison County School District.”
