Less than two months remain until Mississippians will be able to cast their vote in the 2024 presidential primaries, with absentee ballots now becoming available in county circuit clerk’s offices throughout the state.

According to the Mississippi Secretary of State’s Office, those wishing to vote through an absentee ballot will be able to check their eligibility in advance by using the Step-By-Step Absentee Guide or by contacting their local circuit clerk.

If eligible, ballots will be provided upon request by their circuit clerks for the Democratic and Republican presidential primaries.

Those who cannot visit their circuit clerk’s office during the work week will be able to utilize Saturday in-person absentee voting on March 2 and March 9 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The voter registration deadline for the 2024 Primary Election is currently set for February 12. To be eligible to vote on March 12, Mississippians may do the following:

  • Register in person at the circuit or municipal clerk’s office by 5:00 p.m. on February 12
  • Mail registration applications postmarked no later than February 12
