After a high-speed chase in which a stolen 2019 Corvette reportedly traveled up to 165 miles per hour as a driver tried to evade police, the vehicle has been recovered and returned to its rightful Mississippi owner.
The $50,000 automobile was stolen from Cannon Motors in West Point on Saturday. Authorities later spotted the Corvette in Hamilton, Ala., prompting a pursuit.
An unspecified number of suspects managed to escape police. However, they left the vehicle unattended — and it was brought back to the Mississippi Golden Triangle dealership.
Police said the subjects remain on the loose. No further information has been provided.
