Production operations for a major medical transportation solutions company will be moving to north Mississippi.
The Mississippi Development Authority announced on Monday that OnDemand Specialty Vehicles will be opening a production facility in Jumpertown. The project is a $470,750 investment and is expected to create 17 new jobs in Prentiss County.
“More and more companies are realizing that if you want to build a quality product, Mississippi is the place to do it,” Governor Tate Reeves said. “Our state never gave up on manufacturing and that mindset has paid dividends for Mississippians across the state. Congratulations to OnDemand Specialty Vehicles on this exciting announcement. Prentiss County is open for business.”
Headquartered in Knoxville, Tenn., OnDemand Specialty Vehicles operates as a subsidiary of Priority OnDemand, a leading EMS and medical transportation provider. With a national service reach, the company specializes in delivering medical transportation solutions to municipalities, counties, hospitals, and healthcare facilities.
Given Priority OnDemand’s annual demand for approximately 100 new ambulance units annually, OnDemand Specialty Vehicles is poised to become the primary production source for these units. The company has secured a lease and is upgrading a facility in Jumpertown, which will serve as a dedicated production site, ensuring timely delivery of essential medical transportation units to meet customer needs.
“As a native of Prentiss County, Mississippi, and the community where I began my EMS career, I am excited to be able to expand our company presence in Jumpertown,” Priority OnDemand CEO Bryan Gibson said. “The community has been welcoming and we are excited to locate OnDemand Specialty Vehicle production operations in Jumpertown.”
The MDA is assisting with the project through the Mississippi Flexible Tax Incentive program. OnDemand plans to begin production in the fall of 2024.
