Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi continues to rack up the awards. After being the only hospital in the state named to the “Best 250 Hospitals for 2025” list by Healthgrades a little over a month ago, the Oxford hospital was honored this week by the popular medical website with the 2025 Patient Experience Award.

According to Healthgrades, the award recognizes hospitals for providing top-quality care while ensuring a positive experience for patients. This year’s recipients represent the top 15% of hospitals in the country for patient experience.

“Baptist North Mississippi is honored to receive the 2025 Patient Experience Award for providing positive patient experiences and exceptional care,” Baptist North Mississippi CEO and administrator Brian Welton said. “Every member of our staff, including our providers, is dedicated to providing the best care for patients and their families.”

Through its analysis, Healthgrades evaluated Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Key Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) patient survey data with a focus on key patient experience measures like doctor communication, nurse communication, clear communication about care when discharged, and a patient’s likelihood to recommend the hospital to friends and family.

“Hospital quality, including patient experience, should always be considered when choosing where to receive care,” Dr. Debra Gradick of Healthgrades said. “Healthgrades’ Outstanding Patient Experience Award highlights hospitals that prioritize patient experiences and consistently achieve exceptional results. Our goal is to help patients feel heard, confident, and assured of receiving the best possible care.”

Baptist North Mississippi, the state’s only hospital to earn the honor, has 217 beds and offers various services, including cardiovascular surgery, neurosurgery, home care, hospice, and a 24-hour emergency department. In 2017, the hospital moved into a new 600,000-square-foot facility to be able to offer expanded services such as a larger emergency department, larger patient rooms, and advanced technology.
