Bond has been denied for the second suspect charged in connection to the shooting death of Jackson State University student Jaylen Burns.

Jamison Kelly, Jr., on Monday appeared in Hinds County court for his initial appearance. Kelly was arrested on Friday for his role in the death of the 21-year-old. He is charged with accessory after the fact.

The initial suspect, 19-year-old Joshua Brown had his bond denied on Friday. Brown, who was a football player at Jones County Junior College, is accused of shooting and killing Burns. He faces charges of murder and illegal possession of a firearm on school property.

Both Kelly and Brown are being held at the Raymond Detention Center.

Burns was killed at the University Pointe Apartments on JSU’s campus. The Chicago native was allegedly attempting to break up a fight when he was killed.
